More Than Good Enough

This past year has been...eventful. I feel like my life has changed drastically. So many new changes. So many new opportunities presented. So many goals accomplished. And yet, it doesn't matter how many goals get checked off of my to-do list, the one thing I had set off to pursue last year...I failed to continue this year: repair my relationship with God.

Rachael Lampa - Blessed (Acoustic)
You can be the happiest person on earth and have absolutely all you need to maintain that happiness, but it's not the same as being someone who is at complete peace with their life. Happiness is an emotion, it comes and goes. It is temporary and is never satisfied. The more you feed it, the more it wants. And most commonly, feeding into temporary happiness ends up being destructive. Peacefulness, on the other hand, is a state of mind; a state of mind that helps you become content with all the struggles that comes your way. Peace allows your soul to be well, even in your most darkest moments.

And it's what's been missing in my life.

Nothing is as fulfilling as it should be unless it is built on a foundation that rests in the hands of God. I learned this at a very young age, and yet the older I get, the more I tend to forget it. And I'm learning it all over again...because as I progress in my life, everything feels as if it's going "good". Just good. But God has always wanted more for us, more than good, more than good enough. You live a life without Him, and that's all you'll get: a life that is good enough. But it is not enough. He wants what's best for you. He wants something amazing, magnificent...miraculous. Allowing God to lead you while you pursue your dreams turns it into a journey that teaches you things you never would have learned, had you decided to walk without Him. He turns your failures into new opportunities, struggles into lessons, pain into blessings...He makes your life worth it.

And without Him, accomplishments will always have a sense of emptiness attached to it. He bridges all the gaps, fills in any empty parts of your life...and makes you whole. And once you reach wholeness with God, peace comes. And it's a peace that only He can give.

"I am leaving you with a gift: peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give you. So do not be afraid." - John 14:27
