Philippines 2018: The Flight to the Motherland

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

It's always been on my bucket list: visiting the land of my ancestors—the Philippines. I had no idea what to expect for this trip (the first week was entirely spontaneous!), but it was truly unforgettable. Thank you to the Agpaoa & Dela Cruz family for making me feel so welcomed and like I was actually a part of your family during this trip! Maraming salamat for all of the good food, the laughs, and all of the memories! Now...let the travel photo diary begin!

Here we gooooooooo! Part 1 of 5!

It was an almost 11 hour flight to Manila, but we had lots of movies to help us pass the time. I don't think I even slept the entire flight. I wish I was one of those people who could just close my eyes and fall asleep, but I can't fall asleep until i'm actually sleepy :( Thank you Philippine Airlines for a comfortable flight!

Obligatory window-seat-photo.

I see you, Philippines!!!! Side note: anyone else always think of the Twilight Zone when they look out the airplane window?

...and another sky photo.

Manila, Philippines...WE HAVE ARRIVED! Cheeeheee! After we got our luggage, we headed straight to Golden Phoenix Hotel where we also met up with my auntie's brother. After we checked into the hotel, we had dinner at his apartment...which is where I found out what was to be expected in the days ahead (you'll see in the next part). We were in Manila for only one night, and I have only one thing to say: WTH IS UP WITH MANILA DRIVING?! That was TERRIFYING, but so entertaining!!! 😂*Not recommended for people that deal with anxiety issues and claustrophobia...pretty much me lol!

Part II in the next post!
